Artisan Shops
In early May, local musician Danny Hollis opened the doors of his new music store, Players.
Danny has been around and playing music all of his life. He played with a group in his earlier years called the Mercy River Boys and recorded for Word Records, a well-known Christian record label based in Nashville, Tennessee. In the late 70s his group was even nominated for a Grammy and won Dove awards. The group opened up for famous country singers like Charlie Daniels, Crystal Gayle and The OakRidge Boys – just to name a few.
“I feel good about what [Brooks] is doing here, in [terms of making Ben Wheeler into a town known as a music destination]. Everybody knows what’s going on in this town.”
Players is opened Tuesdays & Wednesdays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays & Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The store is closed Sundays and Mondays. For more information, please call 903.833.5614.

County Line Magazine
P.A. Geddie, owner and publisher of her 10-year-old publication – County Line Magazine moved to downtown Ben Wheeler at the end of 2008. She was among the first business and residential tenants who took a chance on Ben Wheeler Development Company and Ben Wheeler Arts and Historic District Foundation because she believed in both organizations’ efforts. Over a year later, the County Line Magazine has settled in nicely and is an integral part of the downtown revival and revitalization.
